According to TV Overmind, the popular Star Trek franchise is coming back to television. Well, sort of. After taking a gamble with Supergirl, the historically older-skewing CBS is now planning on releasing a new Star Trek series online only. While the premiere is set to air on CBS, the remainder of the series will air on the online platform CBS All Access, a paid streaming service started by CBS where you can watch recent episodes of CBS shows online ad-free for $6/month.The series is set to be released in early 2017.
