NBC Premiere Ratings Predictions (UPDATED)

Because the 2015-2016 season officially starts next week, I would like to take this opportunity and try to predict the premiere ratings for all of NBC's shows for the first two weeks of the season. Leave me a comment below with your predictions!

Monday, September 21

8/7c - The Voice (3.7) / ACTUAL: 3.5
10/9c - Blindspot (2.6) / ACTUAL: 3.1
  • The Voice premiered to a 4.0 and a 4.1 last fall and spring, respectively. With the same exact competition from last fall (Dancing With the Stars, The Big Bang Theory, and Gotham), I expect The Voice's ratings to only be down a few points (around 3.6-3.8). The shows following The Voice in the Monday at 10/9c timeslot have never had the best retention, but their ratings are still respectable because of The Voice's huge lead-in. Blindspot should be around 2.5-2.7 for the premiere.
Tuesday, September 22

8/7c - The Voice (3.7) / ACTUAL: 3.5
  • The Voice's Tuesday premire should look very similar to Monday's, as it always has.
Wednesday, September 23

8/7c - The Mysteries of Laura (1.2) / ACTUAL: 1.2
9/8c - Law & Order: SVU (1.7) / ACTUAL: 1.8
  • The Mysteries of Laura premiered to a 1.5 rating (in its regular timeslot). Last spring, the show was getting around a 0.8-1.0 rating. The show should see a slight fall-bump, but it will never reach the mid-1s again. Law & Order: SVU ended its run last season around the mid-1s, so it should also see a slight fall-bump up a few rating points.
Thursday, September 24

8/7c - Heroes Reborn (2.4) / ACTUAL: 2.0
10/9c - The Player (1.3) / ACTUAL: 1.2
  • I don't really have anything to back-up my prediction for Heroes Reborn. This is purely just a guess. I think that The Player will have as much success as it can in NBC's death slot. A 1.2-1.4 rating would be high for NBC's Thursday at 10/9c timeslot.
Wednesday, September 30

10/9c - Chicago P.D. (1.8) / ACTUAL: 1.7
  • Chicago P.D., like SVU, ended its run last season in the mid-1s. I think that P.D. will likely get a small bump back up to the high-1s and will likely rate about 0.1 higher than SVU, which I think will become a regular trend this season.
Thursday, October 1

9/8c - The Blacklist (1.8) / ACTUAL: 1.8
  • The Blacklist is one of the trickiest shows for me to predict. I do believe it will premiere in the mid-1s by itself, but I think Heroes Reborn could possibly help it do a few rating points higher. Unless Heroes Reborn is a complete bomb, expect The Blacklist to return to mid-high 1s.
Friday, October 9

8/7c - Undateable (1.1)
  • Undateable earned a 1.3 rating for its season two finale last spring behind an episode of The Voice. It is CERTAIN to be down a few rating points since it no longer has The Voice and is now on Fridays. However, I do believe the all-live season is intriguing and will attract a few new eyeballs. I predict a 1.1, but even that might be a little too generous.
Tuesday, October 13

10/9c - Chicago Fire (2.0)
  • Analysis coming soon
Friday, October 16

8:30/7:30c - Truth Be Told (0.8)
  • Analysis coming soon
Friday, October 30

9/8c - Grimm (1.1)
  • Analysis coming soon

With all of that being said, leave your predictions in the comments below! I'm interested to see whether you agree or disagree with me and why. Thanks for reading!

Also, I will be updating this article in the future with my predictions for the premieres of Undateable, Chicago Fire, Truth Be Told, Grimm, and Chicago Med...so stay tuned! It's updated now :)
